500 ml bottle. Clear golden with a stable fluffy head. Banana, grain, hay, barnyard, biscuit cake, vanilla, wine grapes, Belgian yeast, some coriander seeds, grassy hops, lemon zest, Obstler Schnaps. Grainy fruity sweetness, complex spicy bitterness. Full to medium bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry zesty boozy fruity bitter finish. An excellent Heller Bock, very complex, yet easy to drink and super tasty!

Bottle courtesy of Jonas, cheers Jonas. Had this Wednesday 29th June 2022 at home, listening to 6 Music, about to cook Chicken Cacciatore. This is marvellous, a wonderful underlying spicy bitterness, sweet maltiness, looks great, clear gold with a sparkle, some honey sweetness, warmth from the abv. Superb.

Flascherl (…endlich! Vom Bock-Bier Spezialisten aus Germering!): Clear, golden to deep golden, lazy carbonation, smaller - quite stable and lacy - white head, moderate to solid more bitter than sweet aroma of herbal to piney hops and pale malt with a certain cellary/barnyardy touch; solid sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied; lingering - relatively dry - herbal-bitter and pale-malty finish with a small amount of warming booze in the aftertaste. Great stuff, as expected from Schönramer. Well balanced snd devilishly moreish…

7/X/21 - 50cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: 8/IV/22 (2021-1139)
Clear gold yellow to orange beer, big irregular crackling white head, unstable, crackles down rather quickly, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: very malty, sweet, grains, some caramel, touch of banana, some vanilla, bubble gum, sweet impression. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, very malty, nice bitterness, banana, caramel, quite some alcohol, wait, what? How is this 7.8% abv?? Well, that explains a bunch. Wasn’t shown on the front label, I thought I chose a sessionable beer for the night. More banana, some bubble gum, bit sugary. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, lots of alcohol warmth, banana, some cloves, a bit of vanilla, caramel malts, some orange marmalade, very rural, some cow fodder, barn yard, white pepper in the finish.

Bottle from Bert, thanks! Super clear gold color, massive and very fine head. The nose is clean and spicy with just a hint of malty sweetness. Flavor starts sweet with some honey and hay notes, but a very nice smooth earthy & citrus bitterness balances this beer quite well. I must say I’m pretty impressed, because I usually don’t like Heller Bock, because they’re just too sweet. But this one really has some thing interesting to it, bit of astringency and bitter character to balance that’s different than the usual Heller Bock.
