Cask at JDW The George, Croydon (27/03/2023) - JDW Spring Fest 2023 - sweet and lightly toasted bready malts, floral hops, light citrus fruity expression, some grass and twiggy hops, medium body and soft cask carb, bitter fruity hoppy finish.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol March 2023. Golden in colour with a slight, white, head. A little citrus character, touch of butter, caramel, light malts and a dryish finish. Ok.

500ml bottle. Clear deep gold amber colour, foam white head and malty, grainy aroma. Taste is malty, sweetish with some biscuit, dried fruits, citric tangy bitterness. Smoothish mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, drying bitter finish. Quite OK.

500ml bottle from co-op supermarket. Light amber coloured with a little white head. The aroma is light, fruity and hoppy initially. The taste is again of fruity hoppiness with a slight citrus tang, and a long dry finish.

Bottle from Aldi Supermarket, Manchester. Slightly clouded golden ale with a fast diminishing head. A light aroma and a lightly bitter hopped flavour.

From BA (Sept 2006): New bottle design, the label now has Demeter, the Godess of Spring and Fertility on it. Poured very nicely, good clean light amber colour with a solid white foaming head, which stayed for the whole pint. Floral, slight hoppy aroma, nothing heavy, but pleasant and almost sweet. The Maris Otter barley gives the whole beer a slightly sweetish flavour, which in my taste, gave it a weaker mouthfeel than I had hoped for. The beer is still very, very drinkable.

(Bottle) Clear copper, good head. Bready malt aroma. Light body. well carbonated. Flavour starts malty but has a disappointing thin sharp bitter finish. Ok, but not great.

Clear amber beer. Soft and smooth - nicely balanced smooth malt and very mild hop fruitiness. Fresh and enticing.
