Fresh, bright and clean. Words you might not normally associate with a barley wine, but here we are. This is our collaboration with Good Things Brewing. A 10% Barley Wine that has really sent waves through the brewery. Made using Golden Promise, Cheveallier and Red Crystal malts as well as English Bullion hops, it’s a beer that keeps on giving. The backbone of this beer is its malts, they provide deep vanilla, bruised apple, warming spice, maple syrup flavours and a stunning clear mahogany colour. Whole leaf Bullion hops counter with fresh bitterness and juicy blackcurrant to finish. It’s an absolute delight to drink and we really cannot wait for you to try it!

Can from the Low Cost Beer online shop. Pours clear dark amber with a thin beige head. Aromas of estery apple, toffee, blackcurrant. Taste is warming, spicy, sweet. Clean finish.

Can. Clear amber beer, good pale tan head. Smooth palate, very slightly viscous, good fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a little malt cream, good toffee caramel and some of that Chevalier malt richness. What makes this barleywine is a really good fruitiness. Marmalade, juicy ripe fruits. The description says blackcurrant and it's certainly evident. Apparently, this is from the Bullion hops. Wow. Smooth finish finds a whisper of cognac. Rather nice then. Doesn't feel mature and I like my barleywines to taste mature, but in this case it really doesn't matter, the rich malts and the juicy Bullion hops bring it on home.

Tap @ Lervig Local. Almost clerar, amber body under a small tan head that fades quickly. Strong aroma of dry fruit, bread, toffee, and a bit sharp alcohol. Taste is malt, toffee, bread, dry fruit, moderate bitterness and rather pleasant alcohol, the alcohol is kinda sharp but to hot, like some kind of distinct sharp but not too bold. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste in the same direction. Quite pleasant without beeing really great.

440ml can from Suagu. Poured a clear copper with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is sweet sugary malt, light floral and herbal. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet, with a smooth, rich, slightly oily, toffee caramel, warm alcohol bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Plenty going on with well hidden alcohol.
