Cask at the Jolly Crispin during the RateBeer Black Country Bus Bash. Pours clear yellow with a creamy, white head. Lovely aroma of dry citrus, pee and grapefruit. Light sweet flavor with nice dry and pithy citrus, more grapefruit, melon, minerals. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Light citrusy hop finish with more pee, melon and grapefruit. Well made golden ale.

Hand-pulled half-pint in The Jolly Crispin (Gornal) on 6th July 2013 during the Black Country Bus trip. Nice golden hue to the body: on top a thin almost white covering of small bubbles. Slight floral hop notes in the aroma with a mild malt undertone. The taste is subtle and like the nose semi-floral with a light malt presence: at 3.6% this is a fine session beer, sadly our session didn’t allow anyone to stay on this. I enjoyed my half-pint though.

Black Country Beano. Cask at the Jolly Crispin. Almost clear pale gold beer. Little white head. Palate is smooth and light and a little soft. Fine carbonation. Strong floral flavours here, with elderflower peeping above the patch. Lovely mild citrus fruits. Finishes fresh. Really nicely joined up. Could drink this all day!

Cask @ Waters Green Tavern in Macclesfield. A hoppy golden ale, but not much of a head. Its fruit flavours are more than apparent.
