Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours realkly dark brn/blk with a few dark tan bubbles. Aroma of dark treacle and smoked leather. It’s complicated. Some oxidation. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is sherry-like oxidation, smoke/scotch. It’s a magic blend of oxidation and smoke.

330 ml bottled June 2013 #10809.
Black body, with a tiny, dark beige head.
Aroma of whiskey, coconut, vanilla, barrel, dark chocolate, some peat, alcohol.
Tastes of whiskey, peat, cocoa, coffee, coconut, barrel, some dark fruits, tobacco, liquorice.
Medium mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes smooth, quite dry, a bit alcoholic, with cocoa, coffee, barrel notes, peat, tobacco, slight liquorice.
Very nice. Alcohol is a bit noticeable, but drinks quite smooth. Enjoyed the nose a bit more than the taste, which is also well balanced, but not as complex. Overall an enjoyable sipper.

330ml bottle at home shared by Saeglopur, many thanks for this one. Bottle No 108093. Bottled 06/2013. BB 07/2016. black color, very little coffee-colored head. smells of wood, liqueur, malty roast, coconut, some ash, peat. very nice smell. full body, slick carbonation, full mouthfeel. taste of peat, ash, malty roast, some bitter chocolate, coffee, some alcohol, lightly of coconuts. finishes rather dry with notes of ash and peat. smell was very nice, taste and finish have a bit too much peat and ash for my taste. overall still quite nice though. Liked the Old Engine Oil a bit better.

Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, 29/01/15 - thanks to Leighton. Light black with a decent tan covering that dissipates. Nose is dark malt, light smoke, spice, tangy red berry, woody notes, toffee. Taste comprises rich dark maltings, chocolate, dark fruit rind, spice, smoked notes, whisky licks, spice, liquorice. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok, some complexity but no game changer.

Tasting at Bruce’s. Thanks to Leighton. Almost opaque dark brown beer, a few pale tan bubbles don’t make a head. Smooth and semi dry palate, modest fine carbonation. Dry brown malts, mild roast. Mellow whisky turning to dark fruits. Mild spice. A fairly dry finish with a whisky - fruity linger. Too dry but tasty.

Bottle big thanks to Leighton. It pours opaque darkest brown with a small tan head. The nose is rich, juicy dark fruits, nougat, sweet whisky, dried fruits, raisin, chocolate, vanilla and charred wood. The taste is smooth, toasty, earthy roast, whisky, charred wood, toffee, fudge, coffee and a some umami with a drying finish. Medium-full body and fine, prickly carbonation. Well rounded and good depth to it. Very nice.

Medium sweet flavor with nips of smoke, peat, chocolate, burnt bread, mild earthy bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, some mild peat and charcoal, dark chocolate, slight earth, raisins, other dark fruits. Solid.
