Bottle at BBT. Malty aroma and taste, belgian yeast spicy notes, alcohol, caramel, honey, light roasty notes, medium bitter. Full body, malty spicy bitter finish with warming alcohol notes. Ok.

Keg draught at BrewDog Leicester. Mahogany and clear. A little touch of beige head. Sickly sweet date and place note in the aroma at first, then it settles to a close-up of the honey and the spruce notes. Sweet taste but only overly so at first, with more honey playing hide-and-seek among the spicy yeast notes. Thick and full body with more stone fruit in the aftertaste. Medium to heavy carbonation. Very good.

Bottle, Milkhead Beer Store. 2020 version. Confusing name. Are the monks going to pretend to gob on someone for a poond or is that bloke going to get moved along to another diocese under cover of darkness? They're not _really_ on their high horses are they? Looks majestic in a La Trappe chalice - clear dark red with a large pale beige head that lasts and laces well. Aroma has heather on top of dried and stewed fruit (prominent Seville orange) , dark sugars that only could be honey, a lick of booze. Quadrupel is a pretty insistent beer and its almost sharp boozy fruitiness occludes the honey. More citrus than Quad, I guess. Spicy and bitter at the end. I liked this more than the fancy BA versions of Quadrupel I've tried, largely I think because it doesn't try to walk away from it being a fun, slightly crude strong beer.

Light haze on this deep amber beer, good bubbly pale tan head. A ton of bubblegum esters on the snout, smells like an imperial wheat beer, some caramel in there. Airy palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. The malts are fluffy and carry and decent amount of caramel and cream sweetness. Touch of darker toffee underneath. Some sweetish esters coming through in the mid. The back end is smooth floral honey and ripe fruits. Airy finish. Yeah, this works, good La Trappe Quad characteristics enhanced by the heather honey. Brewdog not screwing the pooch for a change.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 01/2024 Aroma has sweet banana and honey esthers. Also sweet malt and belgian yeast. Flavour has belgian yeast, sweet malt. Finishes with strong grassy hoppiness. A bit unusual quad but feels gimmick-ish. Also too straightforward and simple for the style - just like La Trappe Quad is.

Bottle @ Fox & Hounds, Sønderborg. Pours dark copper brown with stable off-white head. Clear aroms of fruit and malt, with notes of yeast at touches of hops. Sweetish flavour of malt and fruit, with estey notes and bitter touches of hops. Bitter and estery aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. Decent.
