As George Inn Ale at the George Inn, Southwark. Amber beer, off-white head. Bitter, toasted malt aroma. Taste is malt, some bitter hop, a touch of sour fruit, a touch of caramel. A pretty bog-standard bitter. Decent but unremarkable.

Cask. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth malt hoppy palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

George inn ale pours an amber gold with a malty bready caramel. Typical English ale with a bready figs and fruity flavor. Decent enough but kind of boring.

Cask at the Griffin Hotel, Attleborough. Light copper, flat, slightly hazy. The aroma is as uninspiring as the colour... caramel malt, bread, TCP, sulphur. Taste is an improvement - just - with sweet malt and bitter/sour citrus notes. Thin chalky palate. This is pretty sub-par.

Two cask pints in different pubs on the Isle of Man, 10th and 11th April 2015. Basic session bitter with a typical UK blended feel to it. Amber/brown and a decent head on both my hand-pulled pints. Malts lead the way in both the aroma and taste with the hops preventing any real sweetness taking over the brew, semi-bitter finish and pleasant enough even if it’s from Greene King.

Eminently forgettable.

Cask at the Cleveland Arms, London. Pours clear, red-gold with a lastig, creamy head. Sugary bread and berries in the nose. Light sweet flavor, bready malts, light toast, berry fruits, mellow leafy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carcination. Great condition. Moderately sweet finish, mild dry earth, berries and leaves. Good balance overall. Solid bitter.
