My last bottle and pretty amazing. Dark chocolate and yeah, an orange peel kind of bitterness. Carbo is great, but it's still a hot sob.

Bottle as shown. Pours a very dark brown with creamy medium tan head that lasts awhile leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a strong cocoa nibs and oak. Thin mouthfeel with sweet roasted malt and cocoa nibs flavor with nice sweet finish. A very good imperial porter from Deschutes.

On tap at Rosé and Crown. Pours very deep brown with a light brown head that fades quickly but leaves lacing. Boozy cocoa. Very bitter and full roast with bitter finish. Slightly hot with boozy bourbon notes.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s 30th Birthday Bash - CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to the ever-generous Bruce himself! Pours dark brown with a fine, beige cream head. Big chocolate malt nose, some milk chocolate, general dark sugars. Big sweet flavor, some charred malts, more dark sugars, moderate roast. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with bitter cocoa, charred wood, roasted malts, dark cocoa. Rich and very tasty. (April 2013, Score: 4.0)

Bottle shared at the RBESG 2014 London Sunday Tasting. Pours clear brown with a foamy tan head. The nose holds old chocolate, bread, ripe fruits. Medium sweet flavor with slight oxidation, earth, char, strong roast, burnt sugars. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with sturdy bitter charred grains, roasted malts, dried blackberries. Not bad. (August 2014, Score: 3.5)

Bruce’s Birthday Bash at the Craft Clerkenwell. Thanks again to Bruce for more birthday treats! Opaque black - brown beer, little pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry. Nice dark malts, minerals. A little coffee. Pinch of bourbon spice. Semi dry finish. Quite simple but so very drinkable!

Bottle, thanks to Bruce on his 30th birthday. It pours very dark brown with small light tan head. The nose is roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark caramel, light vanilla and coconut. The taste is chocolate, caramel, toffee, earth, wood, sharp alcohol kick, bourbon, faint coffee, roasted malt and vanilla with a boozy finish. Medium-full body and average carbonation. Nice flavour, but pretty rough around the edges.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of oranges, a bit of oxidation, cocoa nibs and some coconut flakes - not much hint of the barrel aging. Flavour is very complex, with orange fruits, cocoa nibs, a bit of coconut, very subtle barrel characteristics and a bit of sherry-like oxidation. Complex and well-rounded. Great stuff, but inferior to Black Butte XXI.
