21.03.2018, 0,75l bottle (#1342/2000 @ 14% ABV) shared @ BBGTC tasting:
Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head, hazy. Aroma is slightly sweet sour-ish boozy, oak, alcohol, grass, candi sugar, dried fruits, hay, minerals, fruit stones, soda powder, grain, apricot. Taste is sweet fruity, candi sugar, grass, fruit stones, apricot, dried fruits, hay, minerals, light malts, alcohol, citrus peel. Medium bitterness, slightly watery and sweet boozy mouthfeel. Just weird.

29/02/2016: Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Aroma of green apples, honey, some alcohol, ripe apples. Tastes quite sweet, little balancing bitterness. Medium bodied. Too sweet to be one of my favourites, but still a good beer. Score 6.0

Re-rated 2026-01-12: Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours slightly hazy light amber without any head. Aroma of green apples, honey, ethanol. Tastes slightly sweet with some sourness. Medium bodied, alcoholic warmth. Reminds me of an "imperial cider".

750 ml corked and caged "champagne" bottle, from the Norwegian importer, as Bzart Single Hop Tradition Brut Nature. Apparently Tradition is the hop variety used. ABV is 14%. Does this beer need a split? Hazy golden colour, large white head. Interesting aroma - farmhouse, oak, leather, over-ripe apples, honey. Very sweet and alcoholic flavour, certainly not "brut". Sugar, honey, alcohol, some bittering hops. Unbalanced. Whatever the idea was behind this beer, they did not succeed.

Small off-white head, difficultly kept up by lively carbonated, faintly veiled orange-golden beer. Rather malty, honeyish nose - weird for a beer named ’single hop’. Tired, oxydized nose, sweet, bit alcoholic. Utterly sharp, alcoholic taste, with an orangeliqueur tang. Again oxydation, maltcookies, orangepeel (but not bitter - let alone hoppy, God forbid!) Sharp sherry, dry, if fruitier. Alcoholburn, well-carbonated, slick, but a tad empty palate. I think I’ve got it! With ’single hop’ they mean they’ve added a single hop cone. Explains it all...

11/V/14 - 75cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - lagered: X/2012, bottled: VI/2013, BBE: 2020, #086/400 (2014-498)

Little cloudy orange beige beer, big fizzy white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, some orange peel, bit oxidized, spicy, cloves, alcohol, some caramel, dusty. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, very sugary, orange peel, almonds and marzipan, well, let's just be honest here, this beer is completely oxidized and over-aged. Aftertaste: little bitter, sweet, very oxidized, grains, sherry notes, orange peel. Why in the world would make a "single hop" and then let the beer completely oxidise so there's no way you could ever taste that single hop? Makes absolutely no sense. Oh, and also: ridiculously expensive!
