On tap. Pours black with moderate tan head. Aromas of soft bourbon, chocolate, and slick roasted malts. Flavors of woody bourbon, salted nuts and chocolate, dark caramel and soft roasted malts. A bit of heat to finish. Well done.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Kenny. Pours oily black-brown with a creamy beige head. Rich, lots of ashy roast, bitter dark chocolate, torched toffee. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, more rich chocolate, baking cocoa, ash. Excellent.

Level 6 Bottleshare. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, airy and mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, a definite bourbon biscuit vibe. Touch of soft malt cream. Whisper of wood into slightly bitter and spicy fruity bourbon. Spicy fruity bourbon linger, a little warming. Nice beer but not quite well integrated enough to really smack it out the park.

Vanilla and chocolate stout by Estonia’s leading craft brewery, bottle at Beerlovers Bar, thanks Jan for sharing. Medium thick but quickly opening, pale yellowish beige head lacing in dots over an ink black beer. Aroma of fondant chocolate, vanilla bean, wood, bourbon, nougat, toffee, walnut liqueur, fresh figs, cappuccino, dried blackberries, cognac. Sweet onset with sourish edge, candied dates and ripe blackberries, softish carb adding some light minerally effects, thick and full, oily body, viscous, from a thick layer of nutty, deeply chocolatey malt bittersweetness, leading to a pleasantly bittering finish of toasted nuts, soft woody tannins and a dash of black coffee, with a retronasal vanilla note and a lot of (obviously) explicitly bourbon-like booziness in the tail. Typical ‘big’ and robust Põhjala stout, a highly profiled sipper which for me could have done with even a bit more vanilla – but then, I love vanilla, so that is just personal taste. Delicious.
