Francisca Vandersmissen was born circa 1800 in Hof ter Kwadewegen in Vlezenbeek on a bed of hops and malt. The region's noble beer lineage flowed freely through her veins. Years later, her sparkling appearance captivated Joos Lindemans. In 1822, the young couple was wed and moved into the Vandersmissen farm brewery. Soon after, they began to brew the foaming gold we call Gueuze. Lindemans brewery was born.
“Cuvée Francisca” is een mengeling van 4 jaar oude lambiek uit de eiken foeders T1001 (20%), T1006 (35%), T1017 (35%) en 10 procent jonge lambiek uit foeder T1014. Het geheel hergistte daarna nog eens 12 maanden op fles.
Deze oude gueuze heeft een goudblonde kleur en combineert smaken van eik, citrus en toetsen van vanille met een sherry-aroma en een verfrissende zurigheid. Een droge, complexe en mooi uitgebalanceerde gueuze voor de liefhebbers.
Weetje : Er werden in totaal 25.000 flessen van 75cl afgevuld. Daarnaast zijn ook 200 jeroboams gebotteld. Deze 3-literflessen worden door de brouwerij voorbehouden voor speciale gelegenheden.

Bottle shared at CBJ - cheers to Dan. Pours clear honey-gold with a moderate, foamy white head. Light sweet flavour, quite dry, mellow acidity, grassy bite, cellar must, fresh pale wood. Medium bodied with delicate, massaging carbonation. Drying finish, lightly warming, wood, funk, grass. Sound.

Craft Beer Junction bottle share. Thanks to Dan. A light haze on this burnished gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Airy malts, a modest creamy sweetness. Decent funk. Light ripe tangy lemon, slightly sherbet, never acid. Airy dry finish brings tangy dried fruits and leaves a dried fruit linger. My kinda sour.

Dorée, léger pâle avec un petit voile, col blanc-cassé crémeux peu tenace mais plaisant au visuel.
Bouquet classique de gueuze - malt, note de funk, barrique avec ce côté vieux cellier et une belle complexité en bouche, dont une effervescence bien tenace. Petite note de vieux carton, céréales, musc, fruité oscillant vers la groseille.
A hazed golden Gueuze with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with brett, horseblanket, Epsom salts, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet mix of ground cherry, horseblanket, Epsom salts, very nice and complex.

750mL bottle at Hopleaf, 11/30/23. Clear, golden. Massive white head. So overcarbonated. Is it going through a bit of refermentation? Perhaps. Swirled the shit out of this thing for an hour. Still so carbonated. Cellar must, mild Brett, low lactic, no acetic. Good maltiness and wheat softness. Bright brett but not quite enough real lambic character. Abv is gratuitous.

7/10/2023. Bottle shared at Ulfborg. Pours clear deep golden bronze with minimal head. Aroma is woody, acidic citrus fruits, leather, hint of vanilla. Super tartness, light salty edge. Medium body, average carbonation. Enjoyed this.

Frothy white fair mostly diminishing head. Yellow colour. Moderate malty and light hopy powerful acetic aroma. Heavy acetic flavor. Long great complex finish. Creamy palate.

Bottle @Ulfborg. Clear golden, small white head. Leathery, funky, fruity aroma. Bitter, funky, fruity flavour, rough leathery. Fruity, funky finish.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Small head with short duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are lactose acid, fruits, wood, leather, malt and has a nice sour finish.
