Crickley Hill represents another foray into fruited, oak-aged mixed fermentation ales, this time with delicious strawberry. This beer was aged in oak for a year before being refermented on local Strawberries from Carey Organic in Worcester for 4 weeks. It’s tasting amazing – beaming strawberry aroma, gentle acidity and a soft finish.

Clear dark yellow colour with thin head. Really intense aroma of sweet, ripe strawberry together with funky farmyard and horse blanket. Tangy taste. Strawberry is ever present but not dominant.

Not what I’m used to drink from Deya. This is very nice. Subtle strawberry ending.

Hazy amber. Aroma is funky strawberry jam with some figs and caramel. Taste is sour fresh minty fruit. Very light and easy yet complex. Nice.

Bottle picked up from Deya, tasted with the München Ratebeer Group Christmas Tasting Friday 2nd December 2022. Pours a little warm burnished bronze, actually gold with a white fast disappearing head. Zippy and fresh, a little bit of lasting tartness.

Bottle. Amber orange, bit cloudy. Taste is decent strawberry - not too sweet, garden green, crisp, cucumber. Taste is smooth cucumber strawberry. Surprisingly good.

Bottle, I think courtesy of F&L, at the Garching Xmas tasting. Murky golden-orange body, white head. Strawberries are nice and soft here, lightly funky, vague vague plastic, phenolic, but it evens out. Interesting. Lean, dry, tart strawberry jam taste, vague cucumber, just lovely! Softly funky, minerally, well made, well balanced. Apart from a weird note in the aroma, excellent.

Bottle. Clear golden, offwhite head. Lightly citric tart, hay, strawberry bubblegum nose. Medium light tart, sparkly body. Nice earthy hay, strawberry, light rhubarb, vanilla, cakey, a hint salt pickles.

Bottle at Christmas tasting, clear gold with a lacing of thin head. Nose is sour with oak & tannins, you can just barely get a hint of strawberries. The flavor is fantastically smooth for a sour, oak complexity and a smooth transition to strawberry, then sour aftertaste. Very refreshing sparkly mouthfeel.

Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is strawberries, mild funk, white wine, a dash phenolic. Taste is strawberries, leather, not too tart. Mineraly finish, oily mouthfeel, mild fizz. Very tasty one, good balance!
