Aged om ‘Genoels Elderen’ barrels for 2 years. Limited edition.
La Renaissance Grand Cru, and after more than two years aging in white Burgundy barrels, it has changed completely. Only 50 IBU's are left, the beer has big white wine and orange-like fruity flavours with lingering bitterness

1 March 2025. At Winter Belgian Beer Geek Gathering. Many thanks to hosting, Tim & Marina, and cheers to the whole crew!
Dust, old plum, apple sauce, pear. Sweetish apple & pear, bitter citrus peel, cake. Bitter resinous hops, bit harsh, grapefruit & brown soap. Bit boozy jenever alcohol. Fizzy carbonation. Somewhat out of balance, I think it had more potential.

Bottle shared at Brewver Belgian Winter Gathering. Light orange color, white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, light hop notes, but firmly the barrel comes through. Tart-bitter finish. Alright. 7-7-7-7-7

Clear copper orange beer, small irregular white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: nice, funky, woody notes, very fruity, peaches and nectarines, a bit malty, some solvents, slightly chemical touch, brett notes. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty bitter, a bit chemical, lots and lots of tannins, a little medicinal, orange peel. Aftertaste: a little fruity, orange peel, very bitter finish, quite some chemical bitterness, orange peel, a bit oxidized, ok but not great.

Bottle. Color: Hazy amber, large white head. A lot of foam steadily keeps coming out of the bottle, needed a second glass to catch everything. Aroma: Brett funk, hop. Taste: Mix of grassy hop, white wine and Brett funk with oak wood and some citrus notes. Dry and hopbitter Bretty and wine finish. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Light to moderate sweet, over moderate going to strong bitterness at the finish. Great one again from dDvdK.
