Henderson’s flagship, Henderson’s Best, is a modern take on classic English Ale; refreshing, with a mild floral nose and an ABV of 5.5%. To create this beer, we tried to imagine the beer first brewed in Toronto at the beginning of the 19th century and how it would have changed and matured over the 215 years between then and now. That recipe, tweaked throughout 2015 became Henderson’s Best. Best won an award at the 2016 (Bronze) and 2017 (Gold) Ontario Brewing Awards. Henderson’s Best is moderately hopped, with caramel and malt-forward flavour. Well-balanced, smooth, and easy-drinking.

473ml can. Pours a clear red copper with a small, creamy, short lived, beige head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of toasted caramel malt, date and herbal hops. Sweet flavour of toasted bready malt, caramel, toffee, date, floral and spicy hops in a crisp, dry, mild bitter finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Well balanced and enjoyable.

Malty and smooth - more sweet than bitter. Tastes more like an amber than a bitter for sure.

A red copper ale with a thin lacing light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes. In mouth, caramel malt with light grassy hops, treacle, pleasant. On tap at brewery.

This ale poured a deep amber colour with a creamy, off white head. Nice lacing. Scents include caramel, minimal ripe fruit and honey. First swig was delicious. Nice malty, caramel flavours with some tea and roasted nuts. Finish is so pure malt with a little hop bitterness lingering.

Amber brown with a tan head and a toffee aroma with bitter herbal hops hovering in the background. Smooth medium body and crisp flavor that gives you lots of balance. Really good. 3.7

Pretty solid amber, nice malty profile. A little on the bitter side for me for an amber, but not over the top. Henderson brewing toronto

Bomber pouring a slightly deeper amber colour with a frothy-creamy beige head, good retention and some nice dirty lacing. Caramel malt aromas with hints of rusty hops. The taste has the hops a little stronger than the malts, especially for an ESB. And not the best hops to blend with this one. Other than that, not the worst.
