We firmly believe that one particularly good beer is better than a bucketful of seasonals. So, although it may be a bit cheeky, we have one winter ale that forms the basis of our seasonal range.
This delicious 5% beer is dark ruby in colour and has a well balanced flavour with a bittersweet chocolate edge. This comes from the careful use of Fuggles and Challenger hops.

Cask at Crosse Keys (JDW) in London, shared with Finn. Spotty lacing from a tiny beige head. Deep mahogany coloured body. Spiced aroma including ginger and cinnamon. Mid-sweet malty taste added by ginger and cinnamon. Mid-sweet ending. Okay, not more, too much of the spicy stuff (30.11.2015).

Cask@Crosse Keys JDW, London (30/11/2015) - amber pour with white head. Toasty malty aroma and taste, nutty, some caramel and toffeish sweetness creeps in, twiggy hoppy into a bitter finish. Ok.

Cask @ The Railway Inn (JDW), Rushden. Mid-brown, translucent, decent head. Aroma of chocolate malt, not particularly strong. Taste sweet fading to astringent sour/bitter. Nice rounded finish. A very British Christmas beer from a brewery close to my heart.
