Wild Borders is een collab tussen Boerenerf en Nevel – 37,5cl

Blend van jonge en oude lambiek met een boerensaison van onze vrienden van Brouwerij Nevel. Deze haversaison werd in augustus gebrouwen en heeft 8 maanden gerijpt in lambiekvaten. Gefermenteerd, gerijpt en gebotteld op de Boerenerf boerderij.

Bottle: Poured a bright yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with excellent retention and some lacing. Aroma of wild yeats with some funky esther, some rustic malt notes and light tart and oak notes. Taste is a wonderful mix of wild yeast notes of funky esther with some oak notes with a vinous tart finish. Body is about average with excellent carbonation. Wonderful mix of high-level complexity with some very good drinkability.

Excellent lambic/farmhouse blend, with notes of citric acidity, vanilla, sweet grain, and a touch of barnyard funk. Very nice pint.

Green bottle, 37.5 cl, 2022 vintage, from Philippe Boutin (merci!) on 12 October 2024, savoured on 25 May 2025; eye: golden, cloudy, no effervescence, thin sheet of fawn head, no lacing; nose: green apple, acidity, yeast, bread, light wild yeasts, citrus; mouth: green apple, acidity, light wild yeasts, light white wine, citrus, semi-dry finale in green apple with presence of acidity, medium-bodied, good carbonation, lightly sweet, lightly fleshy texture; in summary: fine

375ml bottle from hop cask and barrel dc. Murky lemon yellow, white head. Nose is really nice, lemon, big funk and band aid, straw, raw green grape. Flavor is really nice. Funk, green nettles, band aid, lemon. Band aid. Horsey too. Medium bodied, medium acid, funky finish.

Clear golden beer with a big off white head. Aroma of tart yellow fruits, white grapes, some funk. Taste of tart white grapes, brett, apples, funk.

Smells like the wet dog on the cover. The beer starts sourish dry. Horse blanket and wet dog. Very dry, fruity. Mild, sour but a bit mouldy. Strange mouldy aftertaste.

500mL bottle. Pours murky bonde with large white head. Aroma has wet hay, tons of barnyard funk, lots of wild yeast. Flavour has barnyard funk, saison yeast, wet hay, nice woody character. Very nice.

Light haze, pale, and thin head. This has a lot of bugs to it, maybe some leather, and then there's a stone fruit accent. It's a bit thin because of the lambic, a bit of oak.

375mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma has plenty of funk, rustic wild yeast, and plenty of oak. Flavour is much the same, with lots of rustic wild yeast, barnyard funk, oak, and a touch of white pepper. Funky, oaky, rustic. Good yeast complexity. Excellent.
