(Bottle) Brownish dark red colour with brief foamy head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of oak wood, dried apricots, butterscotch, malt vinegar, brown sugar and honey. Malty, fruity, tart taste with oak wood, dried fruit, apricots, nuts, vinegar, figs, butterscotch, sour cherries and dark bread. No bitterness. Medium body, mainly dry. Tasty, well balanced and harmonious. Seems the acidity has softened a bit over the years. Very nice.

75cl bottle from Brouwerij Rodenbach. Pours a generally clear dark reddish brown, thinning foamy head. Vibrant aroma of mixed red berries, oak, with a lick of vanilla.Lip-smacking sharp clarity of flavour, Intensely tangy with puckering cherry boiled sweets, luscious fruity layers, with juicy Beaujolais redcurrants, fruitcake, oak, vanilla and a lasting sour linger. Marvellous.

Deep reddish brown, no head. Aroma is woody with cherries, toffee. Much more sweet than sour. Moody cherries, old raspberries, wood, caramel. Acidity peeks out at the end. In date but a bit past it - still pretty good though.
