Single hopped Australian pale ale. A new beer fom the team here at Thornbridge “Galaxia”. The name might suggest it’s from the stars but it refers to this being a single hopped pale ale – a beer brewed to showcase the Australian hop variety Galaxy.
Caolan Vaughan our resident antipodean says ”Using our fantastic pale ale recipe allows this stunning hop to transform this beer into a pleasurable experience in a glass - one for all hop lovers”. The Galaxy hop imparts striking beautiful aromas of mango, guava and grapefruit. While providing an intensely tingling bitter finish. ABV changed from 5.2 to 4.5 in 2017.

Cask at Euston Tap. Slightly cloudy blond/amber colour, with white creamy head. Aroma is slightly twiggy, pine hops, some lemon and a bit of stink. Taste is smooth and creamy, some citrus. Nice, but something weird in there too putting me off a bit. Not really getting all the tropical fruit to be honest.

11th May 2019; cask half-pint, hand-pulled in The Three Fishes, Shrewsbury. Clear and clean golden pour, white crown. Dry, citrus leaning beer with a mixture of tropical fruitiness throughout the aroma and taste. just a little too dry and lemony for my palate.
