14th September 2024 Can. Just a mild haze on this gold beer, very small pale cream colour head. Light and semi dry palate, decent fine minerally carbonation. Thinnish pale malts, a modest sweetness. Zumo hops bring a crisp bright and slightly floral lime peel that is elevated by a bright pine. There are suggestions of other citrus flavours underneath, crisp semi ripe orange certainly. An unexplained peach note from somewhere. Crisp finish. Hmm! I wonder where Zumo belongs in todays broad and very impressive hop catalogue. Why would I choose this over Motueka if I want limey hoppage in my brew? Don't know and I suspect I never will until some enterprising brewer takes this by the scruff of the neck and solo DIPAs this. An okay beer to quaff for sure, as a nod to a new hop, it left me wanting.

Can from Fountainhall Wines, Aberdeen. It pours clear orangey - amber with a decent white cap. The aroma is fresh, bright, juicy citrus character, lime, limequat, orange marmalade sandwiches, mango and tinned fruits. The taste is dry, snap of bitterness which lingers, piney, pithy, zesty, lime peel, grapefruit, pomelo, blueberry, floral, touch green, weedy, spice, some booze and some biscuity malt. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A nice zesty number with pleasing bitterness.

On tap at HopCat Livonia. Pours a clear yellow with a white head. Pine, orange and grapefruit citrus in the aroma. Strong flavors of pine and citrus, spicy, floral hops, a touch of malt, and a nice bitterness. A really nice IPA.

Can

They weren’t kidding about the lime zest. Like chewing on a citrus peel, oily and with a firm bitterness offset by slight notes of stone fruit, tangerine, and mango. Finishes with a clingy pine streak and citrus pith. Tasty.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clearish gold with a full finger of white foam. Lovely aromas of lime, tangerine and light blueberry aromas. Palate is very similar. Lime sings as it warms. Balanced finish, but leans a bit dry.
