Bottle. Black and Tan. Nose is citrus, malt slight roast. Taste is sharply bitter, grapefruit rind, lime, pineapple, light resin, malt, roast, slight chocolate hint, very bitter finish. Interesting seeing a modern black and tan, but the black IPA dominates which is a style I’m not at all fussed with, and it’s hard to distinguish from a regular black IPA.

33cl bottle from Õllepood nr2 Gambrinus, Pärnu. Pours clear dark brown with a beige head. Strong hoppy aroma with pine and citrus, some tropical fruits too and then comes the mild roasty notes, dark malt, licorice and hints of chocolate, dark fruits an spices. Moderate sweet with lovelty hoppy flavours with a certain balance against the dark malty ones. More IPA than BIPA, but certainly a nice and tasty one. Medium body with fairly average carbonation. Finishes quite bitter and a bitter aftertaste with notes of pine and grapefruit. Tasty stuff!

Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry with a fine crispness. Smooth dark malts, medium dark chocolate and mild roast bitterness. Mild dark malt cream. Hops are a mild marmalade citrus with smooth pine on top. Finishes smooth. Pine and hop spice linger on. Smooth and well balanced CDA, very nice.

Keg @ Clove Hitch / 23 Club, Liverpool. Dark brown with next to no head. Strong but sweet tasting with darker malts evident, a lot of hops though and it feels like a black IPA than a regular one. It’s as drinkable a texture as it gets for this strength.
