This is a classically-styled West Coast Black IPA. Simcoe, Chinook and Columbus hops combine to deliver a resinous profile with a citrus undertone. The bitterness helps to balance the light caramel and roastiness of the malts.

Can ordered from the brewery. Aroma combines resin and citrus with coffee and caramel. Opaque cola brown. Creamy foamy beige head. Heavy bitter. Resinous with a herbal edge to it. Citrus tang. This is to the fore. Underlying caramel espresso. Medium bodied. Creamy. Lazy fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Big Black IPA.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Just a mild haze on this deep amber - brown beer, a decent bubbly pale tan head but, it lasts no time at all. Smooth palate, quite light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Slightly thin dark malts, but rich enough in flavour, mild dark chocolate, trace of milk chocolate. Bitterish coffee underneath. Also, a mild smoky backdrop. Hops are crisp pine and old skool bitterness. Orange peel and marmalade. Light crisp and semi dry finish. A robust and entertaining Black IPA, got some testicles this one.

Can. Beer Central. Dark brown. Super messy sticky beige foam. Big roast malt and charred grapefruit as per most BIPAs since the beginning of BIPAs. Bittersweet throughout. Fairly slick. Huge bitterness to finish. Ticks every box.

440ml can. Pours almost black with a beige head. Aroma of roast malts, pine, chocolate, citrus fruits. Taste is rich, roasty, chocolate, strong piney citrusy hops, grapefruit, orange peel, peppery spice and resinous, solid bitterness. Medium-full bodied. Might just be the best BIPA I've ever had? Outstanding!

Can thanks to my bro. It pours darkest brown to black with a decent khaki head. The aroma is bright and fresh, toasted pine, orange marmalade, grapefruit, dark roast, cocoa, dark chocolate, Terry's chocolate orange, slightly floral, green hops and some juiciness. The taste is firmly dry, punchy bitterness, charred, umami, dark roasted malt, burnt floral vibes, toasted pine, cacao nibs, dark chocolate, green, sappy, peppery spice, nip of prickly booze, pithy, zesty, grapefruit, blood orange with a drying, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Another top tier bier from these guys.

Can from The Star & Garter, Bromley. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Nose is caramel, dark fruits, liquorice toffee, spot of bitter citrus. Taste is raisin, grapefruit, dark fruits, touch of chocolate, underlying coffee notes. Roasty, malty bitter finish. Top notch bipper/CDA.
