Can shared thanks to Thijs. Deep copper to mahogany, barely any head. Marzipan, booze, caramel, toffee, strawberry jam. Mergpijpen, vanilla, fennel seeds. Very sweet, medium bitter. Full bodied, low carbonation. Quite nice.

330 ml can. Pours a very dark ruby/brown with quickly dissipating head. Aromas of syrupy caramel, dark fruit, golden raisins and sweet toasty malts. Flavors follow same though not as intense. Warm sweet finish. A very sweet but very enjoyable Barleywine

Deep brown. Caramel, dark fruit, fig, light spice, booze. Full, slick body. Finish has booze but not hot, sweet but not cloying malts, and dark fruits. This is Sublime.

Can from Mr. Hop. Hazy dark brown, small, foamy, tan head. Aroma of molasses, nail varnish, bubblegum, candied date, fig, prune, burnt caramel, 'sirop de Liège', carré confiture, herbal liqueur. Taste has very condensedly sweet dried fruits: date, fig & prune, some pear, in a thick malt body of molasses & syrup, bit herbal, spicy-phenolic. Herbal hoppy finish, lingering syrupy profile, dried fruits and boozy liqueur-like alcohol (reminiscent, to me, of 'Schwarzwaldteufel'). Medium to full body, syrupy texture, average carbonation. A malt bomb if there ever was one. Delicious!

Can from Beerdome. Slick Barley Wine with a little booze and nice reddish dried fruits. Robust sugary malt, caramel and a touch of marzipan. Kees x Menno Olivier, takes me back to the days when Emelisse and De Molen brewed great big beers.

Can. Kees and Menno back collabing? Brings a warm feeling to this old soaks heart! Right then! This is an almost clear deep amber beer, with a small and short lived bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, slightly soft, decent fine carbonation suits this barleywine just fine. Rich and smooth malts, toffee that isn't too sweet and a lightly caramel streaked malt cream. Plenty of ripe fruits that taste like they have had a month long bath in decent Cognac. Touch of esters on the smooth finish. The 14% abv sails on by, unnoticed. A very English barleywine from these 2 Dutch titans of brewing. Nice one!

Sweet and toasted malty with notes of dried fruit shred, spices, caramel and toffee, brown sugar, medium plus body, warming spiced malty lingering finish. Very nice BW.

0.33 l can from the brewery's web shop, best before December 2035. Clear, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of molasses, vanilla, raisins and prunes. Extremely sweet, malty, gently bitter, moderately fruity and quite boozy taste of molasses, caramel, raisins, prunes, vanilla and alcohol, followed by a long, gently bitter, fairly warming finish. Full body, smooth and oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Lovely malt bomb, right up my alley. I hope they put something away for barrel-aging.
