Clear dark brown beer. Little biscuit coloured head. Nose of sweet malt and a pinch of spice. Slightly dry palate. Milky sweet malt, somewhat soft, with sweet coca cola and fruits. Trace of nuts before a little aniseed alcohol in the smooth finish. Well joined up and slips down easy.

Clear medium brown, white head. Sweet aroma. Sweet flavor that follows the aroma. Simple but lacks a bit of complexity that i look for in anything "Belgian".

(Bottle, 0.65 l, at Pikkulintu, 20111031) The beer poured dark brown and quite clear. Its head was medium sized and light brown. Aroma had dark fruits, malts, sweetness and Belgian style yeast. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, roasted malts, ash, dark fruits, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and lightly bitter. Aroma made me assume this would be sweeter so the roastedness in the taste surprised me positively.

650ml bottle @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki

Pours pitch black with a small bubbly head. Aroma has notes of raisin, malts, caramel and toffee. Taste is malty with hints of sweet syrup, raisin and spices. Finish is quite sticky and sweet. Okay, a bit untypical Belgian dark ale. 8-4-8-3-14 = 3.8

Re-rated on 25.4.2012 @ Pikkulintu. Slightly sweeter and more malty with a lot of rye notes. A bit more unbalanced than before.

Bomber. Fruity, caramel aroma with a bit of smoke. Smoke takes over the flavor, with a bit of coffee, wood, caramel, light fruit. Quite sweet. Dominated by smoke in an interesting but slightly monotonous manner.

Bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.1%. Very dark brown colour, creamy beige head. Strong malty sweetish aroma, loads of caramel, molasses and brown kandij sugar, hints of spices. Warming mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet (but not too sweet) and malty, notes of caramel and spices, balanced by moderate hops. Drinkable and decent.
