Historien bag Strong Ale går tilbage til tidligere tider, hvor man bryggede øl i egetræsbeholdere, der ikke kunne opvarmes med åben ild. Man opvarmede og kogte dengang sit bryg ved at tilsætte glohede sten fra ildstedet.
Metoden resulterede i en helt særlig smag af karamel og let røg pga påbrænding på stenenes overflade.
På Thisted Bryghus opnår vi den samme smagsudvikling ved at opvarme lavasten til 800 grader, og sænke disse ned i den søde ølurt.
Strong Ale er en fyldig og varmende øl, som passer perfekt til kraftigere varme madretter.

500 ml bottle, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 7.2%. Deep mahogany colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, brown bread and caramel. The flavour has the same elements, but is not too sweet. Notes of burnt breadcrumbs too. Noticeable bittering hops. Not bad, might well buy again.

Õlle on selline jook, et iga uus kord kui klaasi või pudeli suule tõstad, siis leiad midagi uut, sõltuvalt tuhandest-miljonist pisiasjast, mis hetke olukorda mõjutavad. Seega piirdun iga õlle juures selle tekstiga.

Bottle from Føtex. Clear brown with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty and caramel. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 090420

Bottled. A chestnut brown beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, metal, and a bit of alcohol, leading to a dry metallic finish.

50 cl bottle poured in to a Snifter. BBE 09.01.2022. Dark amber colour with a reddish tinge. Creamy off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, fruits and a herbal hoppy note. Bread and subtle smoke. Taste is sweet. Medium bodied. Dry and bitter finish with smoked caramel malts and fruits. Fair.

Bottle.Almost black colour with small head.Aroma is roasted and malty nice strong bready flavors nice with caramel flavors and malty finish.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 19.11.2020) im 2019-06 getrunken. Dieses kupferbraune Ale kommt mit einer schönen Balance zwischen Hopfennote und Malzigkeit. ALs das Ale kalt war mir die Hopfendominanz fast zu stark, doch je wärmer es wurde um mehr ausgewogen wurde es. Nicht schlecht!
