Bottle, at Matt's
Black colour, no head. Aroma of roasted malt, roasted nuts, light vanilla, tar. Full bodied, sweet, not sticky; dark chocolate flavour, vanilla, a bit of booze, and getting more roasty in the finish. A bit aggressive, but in a good way.
Very good.

750ml (thx to someone I traded it from!) @ Matt's house. Appearance: pours like oil with no head. Aroma: a lot of American oak, some very light sweetness, bold. Taste: along the same lines, American oak, thick, almost no sweetness. Not sure whether it has any trace of maple, couldn't find any. Overall: it almost like a liquid oak, nice a new school BBA IS.

750mL bottle, pours jet black with no head. Aroma is full of maple syrup, some bourbon barrels, and a touch of molasses. Flavour is more integrated, with complex bourbon barrels, low-to-moderate maple syrup presence, and a touch of dark sugars.

Dark brown, no head. Inky. This has a fair bit of bourbon, with maple, chocolate. On the palate, alcohol, chocolate, with again bourbon and a touch of maple. Big body, balanced adjuncts.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with light retention and minor lacing notes. Aroma of sweet fudge notes with some woody bourbon/vanilla notes and some light maple notes are also perceptible. Taste is also a complex mix of sweet fudge notes offset by some woody quality bourbon notes with some vanilla notes as well as some faint maple syrup notes that are also perceptible. Body is pretty full with medium carbonation with light warming alcohol notes. Solid BA pastry stout with a nice level of complexity.

Complete darkness with no highlights, a small mocha-coloured head, forming a ring of tiny bubbles. Roasted barley base nose with raisins, chocolate malts, cacao, alcohol and a touch of maple sweetness. A little thick in the mouth with some oiliness and fairly dry finish. All of the Bourbon barrel flavours are blending well, so nothing sticking out like a sore thumb. Dark fruits, rich dark malts, big bitterness, nuttiness, somewhat coffee. A pretty good Imperial Stout that is boozy, warming, bitter, dry, but yet - still drinkable and well-balanced.
