Cask @ Wheatsheaf, Stoke-on-Trent. Clear golden-amber brew with a smallish creamy head. Crisp malt-hop balance, nothing particularly great about it but steady enough.

Pours a clear amber colour with a small, mostly lasting, creamy head. The aroma is fruity, dark fruit, nutty, and twiggy hops. A moderately sweet malty and fruity taste, sweet malts, caramel, sweet figs, nuts, raisins, and twiggy hop flavours and a smooth bitter finish.

Cask handpull at County Hotel JDW Ashford. Clear amber colour lasting cream head. Some malt. Light bitterness on the finish. As a decent bitter it's fine. Good condition and temperature.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A pale amber pour with a close white head; malty aroma; biscuity malt taste with a hint of treacle; and a dry finish with a herbal bitterness. Very pleasant.

Cask at Archibald Simpsons, Aberdeen. It pours clear golden - amber with a lasting white cap. The aroma is sappy, resinous, oily, earth, leather, toffee and twiggy vibes. The taste is drying, earthy, woody, sappy, leathery, some tannin, leafy hops, nuttiness and some muted toffee with a drying, twiggy finish. Average body and soft/light carbonation. Probably needs a touch more carbonation as it sits a bit heavy for this kind of style. A pretty oily and twiggy offering. I wouldn't rush back.
