Black pour, with a small off white beige head. Roasty cocoa, light fruit. Light mouth feel, soft carb. Medium bitter, can't say this makes me think of Nanaimo bars in any way, shape or form. This is just a chocolatey, boozy, watery, overpriced porter. A huge MEH.

Good but it feels less than imperial if that makes sense?

Fairly clean, dark brown colour with ruby-copper highlights. The head seems frothy at first, beige coloured but turns into this bubbly-soapy thing that goes down quicker at that point and leaves a few spots of lacing. Chocolate malt base with some grassy hops, and hints of vanilla, alcohol and coconut. The taste shows a little more nuttiness, with the hops blending things with the chocolate-roasted malts. Some bitterness in the finish. Not usually a sweet-kind of guy, but wish the hops were a little toned down in this one, to get a little more of the dessert feel.

Was a little worried this would be a sugary mess, but I was pleased it wasn't. Solid rich malts, with prominent coffee, mildly sweet, chocolate notes, and vanilla on the finish. Quite nice.

Bottle: Poured a black color porter with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate notes with some chocolate notes and sweet pastry notes with light coffee notes. Taste is also a mix of roasted malt notes with some chocolate notes, some light coffee and with sweet pastry light notes. Body is a bit thin for style with good carbonation. OK for style but lacks a creamy full body.

A deep dark porter with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light coffee, pleasant and smooth. In mouth, sweet chocolate malt with dark fruits, light vanilla, light coffee grind, musty character, pleasant.

Roasted aromas with notes of milk chocolate, hazelnuts, coconut and alcohol. Liquid quite clear, dark brown with red reflections, developing a semi creamy and rather persistent medium-sized foam. Taste it is well chocolatey, unctuous, with a lot of body. The notes are rather roasted and even bordering on burning. Flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla with a fairly intense roasting and an alcohol better integrated than olfactory. The finish is moderately sweet with very little bitterness and enhanced by a light alcohol. The body is much rounder than normal in this style. The effervescence rather active and well appropriate. A well-sweeted imperial porter, with appreciable roasting elements and a soft and well-integrated alcohol heat. We are more in the Pastry Porter than in the traditional Porter. O:7.175 V:4.497 G:7.76 C:3.833 G:16.05 T:39.315
