Can at home from Morrisons. A lovely deep chestnut brown in the glass and a reasonable and long-lasting head. The taste was a deep, rich and malty sweetness that reminded me of a barley wine and was completely unexpected. In fact, this reminded me of a To OL Triple IPA that I had last year and both were really good. The rich malts and well balanced hops made for a gorgeous mouth feel and this really worked with food. It's amazing that Butcombe made something like this and I say keep up the good work.

Can. Morrisons. Not far short of ruby red. Slimmest ring of white head. Nose has sweet, nutty malts. Some chewy toffee. Some sharp vine fruit. Taste is sweet and nutty. Some dryness. Soft and smooth mouthfeel. Sweet and fruity finish. Never a favourite style, but I did quite enjoy this one.

330ml can from Morrison's. Reddish amber with a very short lived off white head. Toffee and a little spice dominate both aroma and flavour. Oily mouth feel.

330ml can from Morrisons: BB 24th Apr 18. Drank at home on 23rd Oct 17. Disappointed with this, wanted a full bodied Bock which this sadly isn't. Amber pour, weak unlasting white head. Malty and sweet throughout but lacks depth and character.

Can from local Asda. Pours amber with dissipating white head. Nose is malt & brown sugar. Flavour is more of the same, sweetish finish. Light body, carbonation just about ok. Trad brewery trying to do craft, the jury is out.

Can from Asda. Copper coloured, with a short-lived, off-white, head and trace of carbonation. Light aroma of brown sugar and ripe grains. Flavour began with some fairly crude cereal notes, but it broadened out with some candy sugar notes, a hint of red berries and some warming alcohol, before a moderately bitter finish. Fine.
