pleasant nose, with light chocolate, some coffee and hint of the promised oatmeal. The taste is understated and balanced, same as the nose with a little added brown sugar. But the chocolate and coffee dissipate pretty quickly, which is unusual for an oatmeal stout. What is left is malt, oatmeal and some sweetness in the aftertaste.

Standard stout, light roast, very little in way of hops. Slight lactic note, hints of coffee. Thin mouth feel, a tad watery. Low bitterness. Very light roasty, dry finish.

A clean, dryish stout, light bodied but good flavour. Oatmeal is more dominant than milk. Well done for the abv. Sk LB

This stout poured a deep, dark amber colour with a creamy brown head. Scents include coffee, dark chocolate, smoke, nuts and plastic. First swig was quite sweet with flavours of coffee syrup, cocoa and nuts. Finish is sweet and smokey with sweet coffee and syrup lingering.

On cask at the Arrow & the Loon. Pours a dark brown colour with a bubbly head and some light soapy lacing. Aromas of roasted malts with chocolate notes and some coffee and even nuts. Roasted malt taste that are milder, watery, but fruity. After having some food, maple hints came out. Wet, silky mouthfeel. This is a pretty nice easy-drinking stout.

On tap at the Ottawa beerfest. A deep brown with an off-white head. A smooth cocoa and caramel aroma. Medium-full bodied. The taste is a satisfying coca, caramel malts - great flavor.  A very satisfying beer.

Decent stout, and the best all around for the line. A little on the dry side, with decent roast malt showing and a little coffee. Thickish texture, black pour with good head and lacing. Soft to light carbonation. Tap at Black Tomato.

A dark brown stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, grassy chocolate malt with light grassy hops, milk chocolate, not bad. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with light coffee notes, a bit weak in body, OK. On tap at Arrow and Loon.
