Bottle shared at Chris and Ruth’s pre-GBBF tasting 2015 - London. Pours lightly hazy amber with a bubbly, off-white head. Nice aroma, with plenty of ripe fruits, toffee and dates. Medium sweet flavor with more ripe fruit, berries, mellow alcohol, toasted bread. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, with some warming alcohol, lingering ripe fruits. Very solid for the style.

Bottle shared at ChrisO Pre-GBBF tasting. It pours clear deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is sweet, brown bread, fruit cake, toffee, toasty sugars, raisin, date and cocoa. The taste is smooth, earthy roast, bitter-sweet, chewy malt, toasty, light charred stuff, fruit cake, sultana, raisin and spice with a dry, spiced finish. Medium + body and fine carbonation. Thankfully not overly sweet. Pretty alright actually.

Pre GBBF tasting as Chris and Ruth’s. Light haze on this deep amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is semi dry with good fine carbonation. Malts are creamy sweet with nice rich toffee. Turns a little tangy with some dried fruits coming in. Smooth finish. Nice Dopplebock., hides the abv well.
