A Black Wit Beer… Deep , tawny, solid dark tones reveal a well balanced combination of wheaty tartness and luscious dark malts. Fresh limes, cassia bark and spice on the palate with a firm weizenbock clove finish.

330ml bottle. Dark brown colour, biege foam head and aroma of spices, wheat, cloves, cinnamon. Taste is roasty, liqourice, cola, wheat, malt, cloves, cinnamon and spice, with some earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthdeel, medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, lingering bitter and cinnamon at the finish. Distinctive, OK.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Wylam Haxan ].Light unclear dark red brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, wheat, light roasted, moderate to heavy yeasty, spicy, citrus, weizen yeast, nutmeg, clove. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, spicy bitter, nutmeg - clove, weizen yeast, fruity. IMO .. in one way good but on the other quit hard to drink !! Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20160223]

Keg @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Very dark brown with a thin off-white bubbly head. Has sweetened dark malts in both aroma and taste. Liquorice is here, and there’s a spiciness which lingers in its aftertaste. Stick with its texture.

Keg at the Eebria Taproom - Bermondsey, London. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan head. Huge spicy nose, some cinnamon, ginger, chai spice. Medium sweet flavour with notes of further ginger, fruitcake, earth. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with some well toasted herbs, more cinnamon and ginger. A fine novelty beer. Not bad.
