This bottle at least shares the label as the image - so I’ll rate this one. Deep dark brown coloured body with a rich, three centimetre tall brown head that leaves a nice lace. Aroma of nuts, pecans, roasted malt, earth, peat, raisins, mushrooms and a good dose of lightly roasted coffee, all with some brown sugars. Full-bodied; Strong rich sweet notes come through with caramlielised sugar, lactose, raisins, figs and a bit of molasses, coupled with the earthy and nuttier elements of the pecans and malt bill. Aftertaste shows a good balance of malt, earth and sugars with some light complexity originating with the nuts and finishing with a dry sugar and vanilla flavour with a hint of the coffee. Overall, a well-balanced beer with some nice profiles and a solid complexity throughout - a nice porter for sure. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Foggy Bottom, Eye Street), DC on 29-October-2015 for US$8,99 sampled at home in Washington on 08-February-2016.

Bottle: Poured a brown with tan head. Aroma coffee, spice, and pecans. Tasted was nutty, coffee, metallic nails, and left a off aftertaste.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out coffee, butter tart, and a slightly spicy quality. Flavour is along the same lines, with notes of coffee, butter tart / pecan pie filling, and a touch of spiciness. A little sweet and brutal, but it works well.
