Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale is made with English Pale, Lager, Crystal and Cara Pils malted barley. We liberally hopped and dry hopped our Ale with American Cascade and Centennial hops and fermented it with California Ale yeast. The result is a brilliant gold ale with a rich body, mild bitterness and a snappy fresh citrus hop flavor and aroma.

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a shaker. Pours a somewhat cloudy dirty blonde with about a half finger of thick white head. Aroma of orange, citrus hops and a little caramel. Taste is light bitter. Some grapefruit hops and a very light caramel taste. Medium bodied with a somewhat slick texture. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, not that bad. I probably wouldn’t drink it again though.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 9 Aug 2011) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of grain, grass, citrus and bread. Malty, grassy taste with grain, hay, citrus and a fresh, mild, grassy bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Medium body. Quite nice.

Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Hazy golden, small head. Fruity nose with grass and ripe fruits. Medium bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. More fruity than hoppy, some spicy bitterness. Easy going lager-like pale ale.

Smells yeasty and tart, with mild corn-n-hops bitterness, plus an unpleasant, stagnant-water funk underneath it all. Looks decent, with a valiant head atop a rather apathetic looking liquid. Tastes no-frills, as basic as you can get with a Pale Ale. Little bit of malt, little bit of citric, floral hops, right-down-the-middle average. Spiky, fizzy texture, but creamy on the finish. Good bridge beer between macro crap and craft. (5/18/09)

A blonde ale with a thick off white head. In aroma, a pleasant hoppy caramel malt, nicely hoppy, caramel malt, nicely pungeant. In mouth, a clean caramel malt with grassy notes, German hops, a tad on the boring side. On tap at Datz, Jan. 8 2011.

Black Hills Beer Fest - Light golden pour with a small white head. Light aroma is malty and faintly grassey. Tastes of lager malt, corn, and grass. Syrupy sweet. Bummer.

Moderately strong grass and rosehip aroma. Clear amber, medium head, little retention. Hay and honey flavor, good balance. A touch of grassy bitterness stays on the palate. Not really distinctive, but enjoyable.

Pours gold with thin white head. The aroma is earthy, a bit skunky and then spicy to citrus hops. The taste is on the bright side with sharp acidic notes then becoming more sweetened with malt and mixing with spicy hops, some citrus hops, a touch of floral hops and then faint graininess into the finish.

12 oz bottle purchased as part of an Abita sampler at World Market. Pour is ever so slight haze golden, pale yellow with a full 2 inch slightly off white head. Aroma of dusty grain malt, along with some mild herbal spiced hoppiness. Perhaps even a touch a hazelnut in there as well. Fine nose, though a bit dull. Taste improves some with the grain of the nose tasting a bit more resinous, along with the herbal earthy nuttiness. The long finish features some citrus peel, and the mineral aspect that many of the Abita beers have. Palate is medium to light bodied, softish fine carbonation, and the flinty lingering mineral finish. Goes a bit flat as it warms. Nice quaffable beer.
