A light, easy-drinking beer without compromising flavour. Backyard has all the characteristics that you want out of an IPA; like hints of juicy citrus and dank hoppy nose. The beauty of this beer though? It's only 3.7% ABV.

Bottle. Orange, lime, biscuit malt, and pine/grapefruit peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with large fluffy white head. Mildly sweet orange/lime, biscuit malt, and moderately bitter grapefruit peel /pine flavor. Good body. A very nice SIPA.

Bottle: Nearly clear amber/orange with a small white head. Orange-peel, grapefruit aroma. Taste is a bit metallic/watery, orange malt and orange-peel. Decent, though a bit in the "ho-hum......" league.......a little boring.

Lightly hazy gold - amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is light and minerally crisp. Bright hops - fresh orange peel, marmalade and a little lemon. Touches of grapefruit and juicy citrus. Modest bitterness. Not much malt to speak of but it’s a crisp refreshing brew.

Bottle from GBBF 2015 and drunk at home. Clear gold lasting white head. Hoppy aroma, some grapefruit. Yes, that’s a good Session IPA, so drinkable. Some bitterness on the finish. Just the perfect Session IPA in aroma, flavour, mouthfeel, very good.

Bottle at GBBF 2015. It pours lightly hazy golden - amber with a thick white head. The nose is soft, juicy, grapefruit, pine needles, fennel and grass. The taste is crisp, bitter, straw, minerals, doughy, pine needles, toasty grass and minerals with a dry, bitter finish. Light body and moderate carbonation. Simple, crisp and easy - going. Not bad.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma is moderately malty with some caramel malt and light cracker notes. Some medium light honey notes with moderate hop character. Hops are mostly grapefruit and orange with some pine resin. Pours a hazy, copper orange with a smallish, moderately thick, white head that exhibits alright retention as it recedes to the edges where it lingers. Medium lacing with small legs. Flavor is lightly sweet with some cracker and light caramel notes with hints of honey. Medium bitterness. Moderate hop notes of mostly grapefruit and resin. Some light dank notes as well. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but I was really looking forward to this one because I am someone who likes to do things. It’s honestly too malty and the hop character isn’t bright and fruity.

If you like hops, this has it. Somewhat cloudy first aesthetic impressions. From a bottle its somewhat clean piney ipa smelling and the first taste is bitter ipa flavors but somehow it comes across a little lighter. Somewhat astringent at times. Long bitter mouth coating ipa bitter bulshit, wew. Why use preservatives when you have ipa hops, heheh.
