Bottle from Sainsburys. Pours clear gold with a white cap. Aroma: malt, light caramel. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, biscuit malts light caramel, some citrus, lightly floral. Light to medium body with fine carbonation. Fine

Cask at the Hogsback brewery taproom, Tongham, 06/08/22. Moderately hazed orange to light amber with a good sized off white head. Nose is tangerine, soft malts, melon, light floral notes. Taste comprises orange zest, grass, melon, faint grapefruit, airy malts. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close splashed with light juicy hop bitterness. Decent enough cask sessioner.

[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] A slightly amber pour with a tight white head; biscuity aroma; smooth in the mouth with a lemony taste and a bready body; then a burst of orange and grapefruit zest adds bitterness. A pleasant summery pint.

Sample thanks to Grumbo: Poured a golden with a white colored head. Aroma is nice fruity, zesty citrus, hoppy. Taste is bitter citrus, little soapy, grains, grapefruit.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury's and drunk at home. Dark gold, clear with s small loose white head and a little bit of lacing. Floral scent, some peach, white grape, gooseberry, a little bit of honey. Bittersweet taste, there's some sweet citrus notes in the beginning but bitter hop notes kick in later toward the finish. Apricot and some iced tea notes in the aftertaste.

Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2016, day 1 - London. Pours clear gold with a light, creamy white head. Good golden ale, light biscuits, hay, lemon rind. Light bodied with fine carbonation, decent condition. Nice and drinkable.

Bottle from Bourne Valley Garden Centre. The Christmas beers Inwas after had all sold out so ended up picking up a new Surrey tick although I said to myself that I would not purchase Hogs Back beers after their SBR shithousery. Aroma is sweet and citrusy with a caramel streak. Underlying eggs. Copper gold. Thin bubbly translucent white head. Initial sweet burst white mirrors the aroma. This is soon followed by a medium bitter streak - both citrus and old school quinine. Underlying boiled veg. As I drink more the beer's positive aspects are pushed down by this veg and egg. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. It's OK. Exactly what you'd expect when a twiggy bitter pusher revamps their golden Ale as a SIPA. Was decent until the eggy and boiled veg elements reared their heads.
