Grey Trees Afghan Pale Ale is crafted like an American pale ale. We use Cascade, Citra and Simcoe hops. The Maris Otter malt provides a perfect light colour and dryness to complement the crisp taste and full aroma of the hops.

Bottle from Wales Ales. Pours a clear amber with nice consistent off-white head with lacing. Aroma and taste of apricot, biscuit like malt, straw, something between floral and grassy; nice freshness. Its got a very good bittersweet balance, fruity with a medium body, reasonably smooth and fine carbonation. Great bitter.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell, London, 17 May 2023) Golden colour with foamy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with apricots, citrus and biscuits. Malty, fruity taste with notes of apricots, caramel, citrus and a balanced herbal/citric bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Rich, tasty and well balanced, with a fresh hop presence. Very nice.

Fra cask på GBBF aug-23, delt med Steven: klar kopbber gylden med kort skum. Fin citrusprofil og god maltsmak. Fin bitterhet men litt underkarbonert. Hva en American pale ale har med Afghanistan å gjøre ga den imidlertid ikke noe svar på...

Clear amber with a lovely creamy white head, and a semi-rich aroma of orange and mild toffee. Medium bodied, smooth and creamy, the orange and toffee flavours mix nicely, there some resinous pine going on, before a nice dry citrusy bitterness kicks in to the finish

500ml bottle conditioned: BB 1st Aug 2021. Drank at home on 13th Oct 2020. Clean and clear amber body, until I allowed the sediment from the base of the bottle to escape, murky dull amber body thereafter, off-white head. Malty molasses in the nose, stone fruits also. Not getting too much tropical fruity notes considering the hops listed, more piney as the beer warms in the glass. Bitter and dry finish, it's a fine Pale Ale, even if the hops are all American.
