Old rating - A 500ml bottle picked up on my trip to Wales last year in a very random shop. A half decent chestnut ale, which pours red, slightly see through with a tiny head, Aromas & tastes of nuts & caramel. Touch malty.

Backlog June 2015. Clear pale amber body under a medium sized tan head. Aroma has malt, mild butterscotch and marmalade. Taste is sweet caramel malt, some butterscotch, hint of berries and nuts, moderate bitterness. Medium body and short in aftertaste. Rather boring.

Bottle shared at Cotteridge Convention 2017. Cheers! Pours clear gold with a frothy, white head. Lightly sweet, with notes of toasted grains, a little paper, hay. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderate sweetness in the finish, further lightly toasted grainy malts. So so overall

Bottle with the Ratebeer München group, at Jonas's, Garching, Tuesday 26th November 2019. Pours amber with a white head, a bit gluey, but thin and watery and rather drab, in fact very drab.

Bottle, many thanks dantomlinson! Clear brown color with white head. Aroma is chestnuts indeed, toffee, earthy. Taste is the same, a bit flimsy. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation.

Clear cara brown, nutty caramel in the sniffer, not much bitterness at the end. You can taste the chestnuts. Nice but missing something, too watery.

Aroma is chestnut some dates and some oily dry juice. Taste is juicy chestnut with medium oily and bitter base. Good body. Ok.
