Cask ay The Temeraire (JDW), Saffron Walden. Sampled May 2018. Pours amber with a beige head. Aroma: malty, fruity, caramel. Taste: light sweet & bitter, malty, caramel, toast, dried fruits, earthy hop. Medium body with soft carbonation.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally floral and herbal, hoppy aroma. Taste is slightly herbal and minimally floral hoppy, a weak touch of lemon balm and chamomile.

Cask @ Doric Arch, London Euston. Clear golden with next to no head. It has a mild pale ale dryness with a passable hoppy palatability.

Bottle at home, picked up at the Craft Beer Shop, Chalfont & Latimer 24/07/18. Clear golden copper with a decent off white cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is caramel, stewed fruits, bittersweet malts, light honey drizzle. Taste comprises fruit slice, brown sugar, caramel, light floral tones, biscuit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a bitterness. Decent flavoursome bitter.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, Hoxton, London, 26 May 2018) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, toast and dried fruit. Malty taste with caramel, apricots, dried fruit, toast and a balanced earthy bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced bitter. Quite nice.

Bottle at home in London - picked yo at waiteose. Pours clear honey-gold with a foamy white head. Earthy hops in the nose, toasted grass, leaves, grains, orange peel. Light sweet flavour with assertive bitterness, more grass, leaves, toasted grains, dried citrus. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Finishes with more leafy hops, toasted grains. So so.

330 ml bottle, from Ales By Mail. ABV is 4.5%. Clear deep golden colour, moderate to small white head. Moderate aroma of herbal and earthy hops, an initial whiff of fruit. The flavour has distinct notes of herbal and earthy English hops, some piney hints in the distinctly bitter finish.
