Bottle at Amarillo Visby. A nice clean APA as all Kernel attempts in the style. Slightly sweet but a nice showcase of simcoe hops

Bottle at home in London - picked up two days ago at the brewery. Pours lightly cloudy, deep gold with a frothy, white head. The aroma has note of dirty hay, grass, rindy citrus, tangerine. Light to medium sweet flavor with pronounced mineral character, some spruce, dirty grass, pale bread, lemon. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Very clean and dry on the finish with flinty minerals, semi-dry citrus fruits, orange and tangerine, light papaya, pine needles, sand, dried pale malts, white pepper. Quite drinkable though not nearly as juicy or dank as most Kernel APAs.

Bottle from the brewery and drunk at home. The tropical fruit aroma is outrageous. Mango and tangerine and passion fruit. Wow that’s amazing. Perfect flavour and finish. Carbonation and mouthfeel are perfect. This is still the benchmark for brewing beer in the UK. Just so drinkable and frankly amazing. Some bitterness on the finish that works well with the sweetness from the tropical fruit. Speechless.

Keg at BD Sheps B. It pours hazy golden orange with a small white head. The nose is plenty of tropical fruits, big agreement with the juicy fruit chewing gum (nice work Fergus), hay and honeysuckle. The taste is soft, orange, apricot, creamy, pine, resin, peppery grapefruit, banana, big bitter kick, hop astringency and earth with a long, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Another winning hop bomb from kernel.
