Chocolate, fudge and hazelnut unite in this impressive beer, part of this brewery’s new range of craft beers. It is deliciously fudgy, rich and nutty, brimming with richness, while boasting the subtle flavours of cinnamon and Belgian chocolate. Hops used: Goldings

Bottle from the Batemans brewery. The colour is dark dip brown almost cola, with no real head. The aroma is well... a chocolate and hazelnut brownie. The taste is a subtle version of the same.

Bottled. An amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of chocolate and hazelnuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, chocolate, and hazelnuts, leading to a dry finish.

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is caramelish and light fruity. Toasted and caramelish. Sweet and toasted. Bitter and herbal. Sweet.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol, October 2013. Brown in colour with next to no head. I found this so sickeningly sweet it set my teeth on edge and was a struggle to finish. Worst beer of the autumn 2013 festival.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Cask. Clear dark red beer with a residual pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry with fine carbonation. Sweet tangy chocolate and tangy nuts. Dark fruits and even a little red berry fruits. Floral sweetness. Smooth finish with a mild bitter linger. Startling flavour, initially very interesting but the drinkability is very low. Tried this twice and both times I did want to finish a third. Ultimately it is too artificial in nature.

Very dark brown colour with thin, fading head. Aroma is very strong with nuts and chocolate liquer. Flavour has roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and hazelnuts. Not offensive but it’s a touch too sweet. Over the top.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Previous ratings show that you either love or hate this - I’m in the former category. An attractive deep mahogany pour with a ring of cream head; the aroma has all the essential brownie elements - sweetness, rich chocolate and malts; the taste matches the smell - in fact this could well be a liquidised brownie; the finish is warming but very sweet. I think a pint of this would be a bit of a challenge, but as a third it’s a pleasant change.

Had this at The Penny Black JDW, Bicester, Oxon Wednesday 23rd October 2013 Pours dark, dark brown with creamy textured light beige head. The aroma is over the top, subtlety went out of the window here hazlenut syrup and cocoa flood forth I feel like I am anout to tuck into a rather unhealty dessert. The flavour is just too artificial with sweetners and syrups playing havoc with my tastebuds thankfully I had the Stone/Adnams collab to fall back on and cleanse the palate. This is a concentrated, sweet, sickly, syrupy, over the top mess. This represents beer in the same way that Jordan represents women....... A2 A5 T2 P1 Ov4 1.4

Cask @ Sheaf Island JDW, Sheffield [161013]
Dark brown, clear, thin tan head that dissipates
Aroma - Rich dark chocolate hazlenut, huge brownie aroma, very authentic aroma
Taste - Liquid chcolate brownie, very intense and powerful chcolate hazlenut, sweet dark malts. After a couple of sips it gets TOO intense and becomes sickly very quickly
Palate - Medium body, oily, very sweet. FInish is just very sweet, masses of brownie
Overall - Aroma very good, but it fell apart for me after a couple of sips. The flavour is very authentic but way over the top like a concentrated essence. A novelty beer, very difficult to finish a 1/3 pint...unfortunately has practically zero drinkability. Only good for a few sips but becomes very sickening quickly.

Cask @ Bankers Draft, Bedford. Gorgeous chocolate brown, large khaki head which settles quickly. Aroma of Milo - a bit artificial but ok. Warming taste, sweet but a trifle sour/bitter at the end. I like this very much but a half-pint would be enough - even then it becomes a bit tedious.
