Keg at Craft Clerko. It pours cloudy amber with a small off-white head. The nose is earthy, hay, dough, barnyard, cheap perfume, wood, bruised apple, and spice. The taste is bitter, doughy, tangy, juicy fruit chewing gum, barnyard funk, wood, alcohol, metallic twang, over-ripe stone fruits, pear drops and a touch of astringency with a warming finish. Medium body and prickly carbonation. A bit messy in my opinion. Sticky sweetness plays a big factory in this beer. So-so.

Tap@Pelt Trader, London - slight fuzzy golden amber coloured pour with a medium firm white head. Sweet fruity and malty aroma and taste, slight fruity spice, sweet yeasty, nice smooth mouthfeel. Nice.

(Keg at Kitty’s, 20140426) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had caramel, fruitiness, earth and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied and somewhat sticky with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, caramel, earth, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A very sweet beer lacking the edges I’d normally expect with this style.

Tap at Kitty’s, Helsinki. Colour is slightly cloudy orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, sweetness, berries, caramel and malts. I am not friend of this style but this one is quite crispy and has nice body.

Keg at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear, rich gold with a lasting, creamy beige head. The nose has lots of ripe berries, general candied feuits, bread. Medium to big sweet flavor with lots more candied fruits, juicy berries, faint toffee, bread. Medium bodied average carbonation. Sticky sweet finish with dominant candied berries, stewed fruits, sugary fruit punch juice, undertones of bread and toffee. Pretty good stuff.

On tap at The Earl of Essex Islington. Hazy amber no real head. Not much of a biere de garde bit sweet touch of funky yeast. Ok but too sweet.

Tap at Port Street Beer House, Manchester. Hazy, light copper colour. Thin, white head. Lots of sweet malt. Some herb. Some spice. Light, yeasty sourness, too. Slightly heavy, sweet palate. Spice again, on the finish. Bit heavy going, but then again, I am a big lass.

Euston Tap. Keg. Hazy amber beer, small white head. Palate is light and minerally crisp. Smooth malt, sweetish, touch of cream. Very light touch of fruit, herb dominates. Whisper of black pepper before the smooth finish. Very saison like, just got a bit chewy with the strong herb.

On keg at Coach and Horses, Dronfield - Deep cloudy orange-amber colour. Aroma of malt, caramel, some fruitiness, cookie notes and light yeasty notes. Sweetish flavour, malty, fruity, a bit caramelly, with light sourness, yeast and some spiciness, especially in the finish. Big syrupy body makes it quite a nice one overall.
