(Draught at BrewDog Camden, London, 24 Apr 2013) Black colour with brief, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, black rye bread, ashes and cocoa. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, cocoa, liquorice and a dry finish with a generous roasted bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty. Very nice porter.

Brewdog Camden. Cloudy brown - red porter, decent pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Fine minerally carbonation. Creamy dark malt, just a touch of roast. Mellow coffee and unsweet bubblegum underneath. Trace amount of hop before the smooth and semi dry finish. Mild malt linger. A rich and satisfying porter.

On tap at Brewdog Birmingham, pours a deep dark brown with an amber tinge and a small beige head. Aroma of light dark fruits, some light toasted malt and some subtle cocoa. Flavour brings out medium-intensity dark fruits upfront, atop some cocoa powder and slight toasted malt. Very delicate brew, with no harsh edges. Highly drinkable porter. Very enjoyable stuff.

Tap at Brewdog, Birmingham. Poured a dark mahogany with a broken tan head. The aroma is earthy, rich and a little malty. The flavour is medium bitter, with lots of coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malt. The slight liqourice alcoholic bitterness lingers into the aftertaste. A superb porter which is flavour packed and isn’t quite so watery as many other examples of the style.

Keg at BrewDog Shoreditch - London. Pours clear, red-brown with a small, creamy beige head. Mild roasted malt nose, some burnt cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with loads of charred malts, rich dark chocolate, tobacco, moderate earth, suggestions of dark fruits. Medium bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Dark roasted malt finish, lots more rich cocoa, light bitterness. Good balance, decent depth.

Keg at BrewDog Shoreditch. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasted malt, coffee, liquorice, earth and toast. The taste is roasted malt, ash, toast, caramel, nut, earth, coffee, caramel, dark fruit and light liquorice. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well balanced and rather drinkable. Not the most complex porter but pretty tasty nonetheless!
