Continental Drift is a collaboration between Florida’s Cigar City Brewing and California’s Knee Deep Brewing Co. For this collab, we wanted to turn the whole continent on its ear and brew a West Coast-style IPA in Florida and an East Coast-style IPA in California. This beer is unique in that it uses hops processed in four different ways: extract, pellets, whole leaf, and lupulin powder. These diverse hop formats create more hop complexity.
TASTING NOTES
Bright berry, tangerine and candied orange hop aroma is accentuated by a peachy ester quality on the nose. Bready malt flavor and moderate residual sweetness balance an assertive but tempered bitterness and stone fruit flavor.

At BBF, a bit deep orange color, fruity hood with some straw notes, bready fruity sweetness, a bit of orange marmalade, medium bitterness. Nice.e

On tap at Borefts ’16. Golden colour, white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity, mango, tropical fruits, leaves. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, tropical fruits, mango, citrus, leaves, firm bitter finish. Light bodied. Nice.

Draft @ Borefts 2016. Shared with RB Belgian crew. Dorée, fin blanc. Nez au bouquet plaisant de houblon côté ouest, pas mal de C-hops, agrumes. Malt est plus en support et laisse pas mal de place aux houblons. Palais est léger niveau malté, pils, houblonné oscillant vers tropical, agrumes pour un rappel bien américain dans l’approche. Pointe de pin et résineux, huileux sur la fin. Correcte snas être le meilleur exemple du style.

Thank you for sharing BE & friends RB Crew! Sampled draft @ Borefts 2016. Day 2. Lightly hazy orange, off-white. Nose is mellow USA hop, forward pine oil. Taste is lightly mellow bit firm pine resin hop oil, very big buildup until becomes quite bitter, oily malts. Hop oil body. Pretty good classical USA IPA.

Sampled from tap at Borefts 2016. Clear, golden yellow with a white head. Sweetish, fruity-grassy and resiny aroma of caramel, mango, passion fruit and pine. Slightly bitter, grassy-fruity and resiny taste of caramel, honey, mango, passion fruit and pine, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, quite resiny finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!
