Cask at the Old Coffee House, London. Pours clear gold with a small, bubbly white head. Interesting beer. Has a good, gritty hop bite with some grass, light pine, citrus rind, along with some minerally, flinty dryness. Low sweetness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry, gritty bitter finish, further notes of citrus rind, dirt, grass, very mild malt character. I can’t say this beer appears to be in top form. There are touches of that minerally, lightly smokey character you sometimes find in cask golden ales, which never seems to be a desired character. I’ll try to have this again sometime as I think this beer can do better - which isn’t to say it was all bad this time around, mind you.

Cask at the Old Coffee House. It hazy straw yellow, with a small white head. The nose is grapefruit, tangerine, zesty lemon, light farmyard and hop sack. The taste is straw, resinous, bitter grapefruit, lemon, citrus zest and some astringency, with a long, very bitter finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. A bold, bitter and flavoursome blonde ale.

Cask @ King William IV. Clear, pale golden body with a moderate white head. Nice citric and tropic fruity aroma. A nice and smooth light malty flavor with lots of fruit and a good bitterness. Medium body and fruity bitter aftertaste. Very refreshing and surprisingly tasty and balanced at only 3,9 % ABV.

Clear pale gold beer with a little white head. Smooth low carbonation palate. Nice fresh grapefruit - not too bitter. A little peach provides additional interest. Mild semi dry finish with mild bitter linger. Alright but could do with some condition.

(Cask at Cross Keys, Covent Garden, London, 27 Nov 2011) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, lemon peel, biscuits, passion fruit and lots of grapefruit. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, lemon peel, resin and a generous grapefruit bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Rather light body, fairly dry. Impressive hop character in this highly drinkable ale. Very nice.

Cask@King William IV, London. Pale golden colour with a minor head. Aroma is fruity, floral and quite much tropical fruityness as well as mild sweet herbal notes. Flavour is wellbalanced fruity and floral hops along with rather crisp maltyness and also some mild grassyness in the finish.

Cask at the brewpub. Hazy pale golden. Rich minty tangerine aroma. Mid dry with light body. Crisp and really hoppy with fresh tangerine hops and long, severe but inaggressive bitterness. Lovely!

Cask at the King William IV Brew Pub on 2nd September 2011. Hazy gold with disappearing head and no lacing. Intensely grassy hop aromas. Liquid is grassy, herby and has fine grapefruit. Aftertaste continues to delight the palate with intense bitter hoppiness. Smooth to light mouthfeel. Lovely.
