A smooth stout using lactose and Brazilian Cachoeira da Grama wholebean coffee from HasBean. Chocolate and roast flavours are softened by silky milk sugars, finishing on nutty, fruity coffee notes.

Bottle from the brewery and drunk at home. Black beer with a lasting tan head. Coffee jumps right out of the glass at you. Real coffee beans. Thankfully not too much lactose, there is a little sweetness I suppose that builds towards the end, but there is enough coffee there to make me happy. Yep, get rid of the lactose and this would be lovely.. Decent coffee beer especially at just 4% ABV.

Bottle at home, 12/03/17. Black with a decent light tan cap that retains well. Nose is coffee grinds, light spice, roast malt, chocolate, toffee, toasted brown sugars. Taste comprises milk chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, light peppery spice, cocoa butter, brown bread, light fruit rinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid coffee porter, lots of depth to the flavour for the ABV.

Brew By Numbers with Leighton. Keg. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is airy, semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Smooth mellow dark malts, with a medium dose of roasty bitterness. Earthy coffee. Mild spice. Modest fruity tang. Some lactose sweetness on the end. Light finish. It’s not bad at all but only gets my interest up a little.
