Hophead is a pale, aromatic and hoppy session bitter. Brewster’s have brewed Hophead for over twenty years. In this time this pale, full on hop, low gravity style of beer has become a modern classic.

As a permanent beer it will work well alongside an “English” style beer to cover the fundamentally important session (3.5%-4.0%) beer drinkers category on the bar. When stocked like this many Publicans have noted increasing sales and repeat trade built around this beer.

Hophead is pale gold with a fresh zesty hop character. Highlights of orange, lemon and blackcurrant hop notes from a blend of English and American hops.

(Cask at Old Fountain, Old Street, London, 3 Aug 2010) Golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grass and grapefruit. Fruity, slightly malty taste with notes of citrus, green apples and a generous floral bitterness in the finish. Light body, fairly dry. Nice and tasty with a generous hop character.

Cask, handpump at the JDW near the castle complex, Oxford 02.09.10 Pours lemony gold with a white head. This isn’t as good as a certaing other hophead from down on the south coast but nonetheless its a damn good beer. Nice hoppy profile, good buzzy bitterness. The bitterness in this lingers, simple but very tasty for a 3.6% beer. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Cask-conditioned at a pub just outside Lichfield. Clear gold in colour with a decent white head. A good hoppy ale, with plenty of citrus, balanced well by sweet malts and a long dry finish. Very drinkable.

Cask. HAzy yellow colour with small white head. Aroma is mainly fruits, orange coming through the best. Flavour is mild bittering flowral hops along with some quite sweet fruityness and mild caramel malts.

Cask gravity Notts BF 05. Golden beer with white lasting head. Along the lines of Darkstar Hophead and JHB. Grapefruit and tangerine citrus, acidic in mouth with drying hoppy citric finish. Mmmmm
