A big, dense light tan head with top to bottom lacing. A near black body. An appealing nose featuring chocolate, cream, roasted caramel malt and a touch of booze. A big molasses, chocolate and dark berry burst leads off the taste profile. Slightly burnt butter, booze, fruity hops, malt, and raisins blend in underneath. A touch of vanilla and coffee round out the blend. Love the roasted elements and they grow and blend along with the butter as the taste grows. Didn’t expect an epic from Fullers!

Bottle shared at home with my dad, after cellaring it for over a year. Nose is intense malty, showing notes of chocolate, booze, light coffee, smoke, dried fruits and licorice. Taste is molasses, sweet booze chocolate and light smokyness with a hint coffee and roasted malts. Closes with a sweet, sticky boozy chocolate finish, medium to heavy body and soft carbo. Solid non-adjunct RIS.

Bottle from the lcbo. Pours a typical jet black, with a big fluffy beige head. Very roasty nose, with alot of ripe fruit. Touches of soy, and coffee, with some alcohol. Silky mouth feel, with a soft carb. The finish is quite fruity, lends a solid sweetness to counter the medium bitterness. Loads of roast, and soy in the end, with a little alcohol warming.

500ml bottle - Pours a deep dark brown, almost black colour with an average sized creamy tan head. The aroma is dark roasted malts, bitter chocolate, dark berries and a little liquorice. A rich roasted taste, dark malt, bitter chocolate, liquorice, plum and dark fruit flavours with a warming alcohol and bitter finish.

Pours virtually black with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, plums, berries, brown sugar. Taste is slightly sweet up front, followed by a long, burnt, bitter finish over a berry tang. My only complaint is the increasing acidity at the finish, which is just a touch too much. Medium-bodied, mostly mild carbonation, sticky. Pleasant drinking.
