Cask pint in my local Wetherspoons on 8th Jan 2016. Clear mahogany body with a creamy head in colour and texture. Malty molasses rule this Winter brew, semi-sweet with a mild fruity flavour mid-sip. One of the better UK Christmas beers I have had this winter.

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. Copper coloured with a loose cream head; light, malty aroma with just a touch of sulphur; lots of sour fruit flavour at first, but this quickly disappeared leaving some caramel malt and a touch of spice - perhaps ginger; gently bitter to finish with some fresh green hops.

16th December 2010. Spoons - Hamilton Hall. Clear amber beer, decent creamy of white head. Light soft palate. Sweetish mildy spiced cake. A little hop jars against the sweetness, there is also a whisper of sulphur. Almost achieves it’s title but was more like iced Christmas Cake to me. Amusing, fun and tasty beer.

Cask handpull at Westgate JDW Canterbury. Mid brown colour lasting beige head. Yes some Burton snatch on aroma and flavour yes some fruity malt but I am struggling to identify any spice. Reminded me of Pedigree to be honest. Re rate at a Marstons pub n Ashford. Well less Pedigree like elements and more malt. But still cant mind those spices

Cask at the Bridge, Kingswinford. Pours dark brown with a medium head. Aroma is slightly like Christmas cake spice. Taste is some Christmas spiced malt to start and apple on the finish. Ok, but could do with being stronger.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] Amber, moderate white head. Rich mouthfeel, tastes of dark fruit and treacle with a hint of spice; the sweetness is just about offset by a nutty, dry-leaf bitterness. Not bad for a Christmas special, and surprisingly flavousome for the low ABV.

Cask at the Central Bar, JDW. Glowing russet pour with a creamy, white, lace-leaving head. Doughy bread aroma with very faint berries and spices. Overall the flavor seems a touch thin, but there are pleasant notes of citric, herbal hops and mild, fruity malts. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Bitter, lightly astringent finish, some edgy bitterness and weak malty sugars. Not that great.
