Cask-conditioned at the Staple hill Oak, Bristol 14/11/10. Deep amber in colour with a slight, off-white head. Fruity aroma with a touch of sweetness. Easy drinking with more fruit and some caramel before a decent bitter finish. Good.

Cask at The Tyburn JDW. Pours dark, copper-red with a mild, bubbly head. Holds a distinct chocolate malt aroma. I guess I would describe the flavor as malty. There are some lightly roasted malt notes, with muddled dirt and caramel, along with some earthy bitterness, and subtle notes of plastic. Body is light and carbonation is fine. Finishes with messy malts and some dirty hops. Not very good. When I burped after drinking this it tasted alright, so apparently my stomach juices actually improve this beer. Either I missed something or this cask is a bit off.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading] Odd bronze-brown colour with a moderate off-white head. Hoppy from the off - grassy and green leaf notes followed by a bit of pine. There’s woodiness behind and some nutty malt. Moderate bitterness and a good chewy mouthfeel - I liked it.

From cask at Standing Order. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity, roasted malt and breadish. Bitter, dry and breadish malt base. Rather roasted and dry bitter. Ends lingering malty and dry.

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. Golden amber with a thin beige head; but apart from the appearance this was a disaster with an unpleasant medical smell and taste masking all but a trace of Sn yeast and some dusty hops. Based on the other comments, I’ll need to try this again elsewhere.

Cask, handpump at a JDW, Leith Nr Edinburgh in company of Craig, Rob and friend (sorry forgot name) & Loz 29.10.10 Not as hoppy as I was expecting considering the bumph about the hops in the description. Fairly standard bitter, some furry bitterness bit of stale bon-bon, had much better. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1
