Black Forest is a very rich, thick, and flavoursome porter, in the style of those brewed in old London. The aroma brings roasted coffee and oak. Dark chocolate, espresso and charred malts follow and the long finale is dark, fruity, and bittersweet.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Covent Garden, London, 24 April 2017) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, coffee and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and a sweetish finish with a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well made porter with lots of chocolate and coffee. Very nice.

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 2nd January 2017. Thickly sepia/black with tan foam. Roasty malt aroma. Intense roastiness in-mouth with coffee, smoke and a touch of citrus. Lingering roast malt finish of smoke and coffee in agreement with each other. Medium-bodied with an engaging texture. Superb porter.
